Ivan Tomasevic the album description states that all of the tracks were produced under the influence of Steve's favorite producers, with Anthony Shakir being one of them. and you can certainly feel Shake's influence, especially in tracks Steeple and Damper, where latter could easily be one of Frictional Beats. although not sounding like a proper album, this is a nice collection of tracks, and I hope Steve will surprise us with some new material very soon. Favorite track: Steeple.

about

This hour-length album of tracks was originally intended to form the basis of my second album. 'Hornography 2', if you like. In fact, Fog Leg Parts 1 and 2, along with Eeef were left overs from the original Hornography CD.

The rest of the tracks were recorded in 1997 and 1998, around the time that Universal Language Productions closed up shop. Without a label to release on, I played a CD of these tracks to a distributor where one kind soul, the office junior I think it was, told me exactly what he thought of them...

Dejected, I stashed this material for the next 18 years.

The tracks were all produced using the low-budget digital hardware boxes I had at the time. Most of them were performed / recorded live in one take to a stereo master.

I was going for the sound and feel that I found in the early works of my favourite producers at that time - notably Kenny Dope, Carl Craig, DJ Premier, Anthony Shakir, DBX, Atom TM ... But I'm not very good at imping - unfortunately it always just comes out sounding like me !

Raw simplicity - or (Half Baked) if you prefer - you decide ;)
